Honoring Pregnancy through Henna Tattoos

My Book Project

This year I am creating a book on celebrating pregnancy and babies because it is a rite of passage that I am focused on, it is a reality I am intending to create for myself.

Our family of 5 has been calling another soul into our lives for 2 years now, and last year I was feeling rather discouraged. I have a lot of creative energy, and at the time it felt stagnant, it needed to be moving through me. I turned to Spirit and I was guided to celebrate and honor other women's pregnancies through my henna tattoos. By turning my focus from what I don't have to what wonderful blessings other women have, I have had a remarkable change of attitude. It is my intention for my pregnant belly and my feet (which are traditionally painted within 9 days of the baby's birth) to be the last in the book.

While we wait for the Universe's timing, I have found painting women who are pregnant and those who have recently given birth to be some of the best therapy ever! They simply exude the most healing energy I have ever felt. As I apply the henna paint onto their gorgeous large bellies, I feel the unborn babies kick me and that melts my heart. Sharing in their joy of pregnancy and babies increases my joy and patience.

I am seeking pregnant women to paint and photograph for my book, Blessed Belly. Interested?
